Oldcastle Utd Afc 1 - 4 Rangers fc dundalk

Oldcastle United were left reeling from missed chances in the first half an hour of this game, before our visitors took the lead twelve minutes before the break when Gavin Gaffey ghosted in unmarked to side foot home a right foot shot past Mark Fitzsimons inside the eighteen yard box.One nil down at the break, and within two minutes of the second half Oldcastle conceded a second goal when a sublime bit of skill from the Prolific Barry Carr saw him finish well at the near post. The away side grabbed a third goal when Oldcastle swung in a free kick which Rangers cleared and Tj Murtagh found the back of the net with a simple finish past Fitzsimons. Three turned into four when Fitzsimons pass to a midfielder was intercepted and substitute Keith Harmon chipped the ball into the empty net. Oldcastle did get a consolation goal late on when Cj Healy ran onto a Darragh Moore pass and he confidently rounded Mulvey to finish with his right foot. Oldcastle have now played the league favourites twice in our first three games and no doubt they will be up there at the end of the campaign, We want to wish Wayne Conroy and his Rangers fc dundalkteam the very best of luck for the rest of the season.
